How much does an empty leg cost?
It depends on the aircraft and the distance. Short turboprop and light-jet hops are the least expensive, and long-range heavy jets cost more. The price covers the whole aircraft, so splitting it with friends brings the per-seat cost down fast. Each listing shows what it costs per seat if every seat is filled.
Why are empty legs cheaper?
The aircraft has to make the flight anyway to get home or reach its next trip. Any revenue beats flying empty, so operators price these legs below a regular one-way charter.
What's the catch?
The route and departure time follow the aircraft's schedule. If the original trip changes, the empty leg can move or be cancelled. When that happens, your advisor will help with alternatives, including a full charter quote.
